3 Things To Consider When Choosing An Outdoor Wedding Venue

If you dream of getting married outdoors, you are certainly not alone. Lots of people find themselves wanting to incorporate their love of nature into their wedding ceremony and/or reception. For many of these people, selecting an outdoor wedding venue will end up being the perfect choice for their nuptials. However, if you want to ensure your big day is a success, there are a few things you will want to take into consideration when choosing an outdoor wedding venue

1: Accessibility For Guests And Vendors

As a lover of the outdoors, you are probably well aware that not all scenic locations are easily accessible. While this may be part of their appeal when exploring the big outdoors, choosing a location that is difficult to access could prove problematic when planning a wedding celebration. To ensure you are choosing the best possible venue, it is important to take into consideration how accessible each potential venue will be for your intended guests and vendors. Be sure to consider factors such as the need for wheelchair accessibility or the ability for larger catering vehicles to access the reception area.

#2: Public Versus Private

There are a variety of both public and private venues that offer gorgeous outdoor locations where you could host your wedding. When choosing between these venues, you will need to carefully consider the pros and cons that come along with whether a venue is privately owned or is on public land. For instance, while private venues are often more expensive, these venues allow you to avoid sharing the space with the general public on your big day. Furthermore, some public locations may require you to obtain a permit to host a large private gathering. On the flip side, some private venues may require you to utilize their vendor services rather than allowing for your choice of outdoor vendors for things such as catering the reception.

#3: Available Shelter

While your preference may be to get married outdoors, it is important to remember that the weather can be difficult to predict. Consequently, you could find yourself battling pouring rain or other unpleasant weather conditions when your wedding day arrives. To ensure bad weather isn't able to put a damper on your big day, you will want to choose an outdoor wedding venue that either offers or can accommodate some type of shelter if this shelter becomes necessary. This can include things such as a gazebo or pavilion. An open space large enough to put up a large canopy or tent may also serve the purpose of having backup shelter available.
